President’s Report April 2009
Hi Everyone,
What a month March has been. Go, go, and go, all the time. First event was the American Car Sunday at Warriewood Oval. Thanks to our Editor for promoting this day, which I might add provided a great show of corvettes from our members. We didn't have to change ends at half time with the Mustangs.

Next was our March club meeting with visitors Jim and Kay Hilton from Colorado {friends of Karl Taylor}
How do I explain our next guests? Exciting, intriguing is the only way to describe Candelaria and Hermann Zapp from Argentina.Wasnt that the most informative talk they gave about their very adventurous trip from South America,USA, Alaska and finally to Australia over a period of 7-8 years with 3 kids and one more on the way. How about the 1928 Graham-Paige they were travelling in. What an incredible journey of life they have had and there is still more to come, so we wish them well and a very safe journey in the future.
W e have just had our annual Bella Vista Homemakers show, what can I say except FANTASTIC. What a great day, beautiful weather, a great roll-up of some nice and shiny corvettes.
This is the 8th year for this event and what a response with 75 entries and possibly another 5 or so in the car park. Many thanks to all the members who put so much effort into displaying their pride and joy.
I would like to thank the management and staff, shop owners for all of their support and participation to make this a very successful day for everybody.
Congratulations to all of the trophy winners. A thank you should also go to Meguires for the goodie bags and to Brian (our treasurer) for packing them.
A big thank you to Michael Cokinas for his continual support with samples and car care products. Cathy Tulloch, Gary Webster, Brian Strohfeldt , Ray Smith for all the extras in the goodie bags.
Thank you also to all of the Judges and our Secretary for tallying all the scores. Our new judging system still needs a bit of fine tuning, but when you read the score sheets in the newsletter it is the average of the two judges.
Congratulations also to Andrew and Judy Angus for winning the major prize from the centre management-Dinning Suite.
Emma and Sarina from Hooters collected $72 for our charities.
The girls selling club clothing sold $492 on the day.
We also raised $750 from entries which will be donated to our 2 charities.
Most of all I must thank all of the committee and members involved in making the day a huge success.
Just a reminder to book in for the Xmas in July at Gledswood Homestead at Catherine Field as Jenny needs numbers and money by May. See Flyer for more info.
As I always say " Do it in a Vette"
Bob Lynn.
PS. Hermann and his wife had a baby boy last Sunday morning 15th March at 2am and they called him MICHAEL WALLABY. |
