One of the last things we did last year was name our Club Member of the Year for 2007, and recognition was given to Nick Zankiewicz for his demonstrated enthusiasm for our club. Nick has been a member of our club for many years and during this time (not just over the last year) Nick and his wife Sharon have been active participants in many of our club events, no matter what area of Sydney they are in. I think Nick is well deserving of the award given his demonstrated enthusiasm and commitment to enjoying our club, as well as always being friendly and helpful to his fellow members. Congratulations and thanks Nick.
So far this year we have had one official Club Run which was The Mustang Clubs All American Day at Castle Towers shopping centre at Castle Hill. Our club had what I thought to be one of the best turnouts on the day and it was good to see everyone there enjoying themselves. We also had some of our friends from Corvettes of Canberra, which was nice to see.
Don’t forget that just over one month from the time of your reading this the Adelaide Corvette Convention will be on – so if you are intending to go please let our friends in Adelaide know ASAP.
Around the time of the Adelaide Convention Entry forms will be released for this Years Corvette Challenge which will be held at Wakefield Park on 2nd November – so if you like to use your car on the track you may want to pencil this date down in your calendar.
Another date you should pencil in is our annual Club Show ‘n’ Shine at Totally Home Bella Vista – the date of which has been moved this year to allow a greater percentage of our membership to attend. The new date for Bella Vista for 2008 is Sunday 18th May 2008.
Lastly, for any members who love karting, Nick Zankiewicz is organising another karting day at Eastern Creek Karting on Saturday 29th March – if you’re keen, check our clubs internet forum for details.
Also don’t forget our annual Bobbin Head get together/lunch this coming weekend – it’s always a popular day and enjoyable, details can be found in the events page later in this magazine.
