President’s Report February 2009
Hi Everybody,
I hope everyone has had a Merry Christmas with their families and an enjoyable time seeing in the New Year.
January has been a very busy month, 5 new members joined our club, so I would like to extend a warm welcome and hope you enjoy what the Corvette car club has to offer as much as I have over the past 17 years. I would like to thank everyone for their help and support since the AGM.

We have had quite a few things happening in our annual break, with the doonside BBQ'S as well as brekky runs and a trip to Palm Beach for lunch. A run to Toukley was organized to meet up with some members from that area and then on to lunch with a bit of sightseeing thrown in.
Thanks should go to all that attended and those that organized these events. It looks like that this year is going to be busy with club runs and car shows etc, so keep a check in the coming events in the newsletters and on the club website.
For those that are interested in being a judge at one of our car shows, we are holding a 'Judging School' in conjunction with the Canberra corvette club. This hopefully, will enable us to standardize the judging procedure for future events and with the coming convention held in Canberra. This will be held on Saturday 21st February 2009, for details contact myself on 02 46770676. A BBQ lunch will be provided.
Our annual Bella Vista Car Show held at the Homemakers Centre Bella Vista is coming up fast, so get your entries ASAP with your shirt orders before 15th February.
This year there will be a few special attractions, 4 Drag Cars, 106.5fm radio station, lots of give-aways, retailers specials, $1,000 gift vouchers for the Bella Vista management choice as well face painting, jumping castle, BBQ, and a champion soccer player as guest. Entry forms will be in this month's newsletter.
The major event for this year to put in you diary is the 2009 National Corvette Convention in Canberra over the Easter long weekend. This is an event you should make an effort to attend, as there will be vettes from all over Australia attending, and a chance to catch up and make new friends. For more information contact either myself or Terry Ruse 0262978128 BH. You can download entry forms from our club website.
I had the pleasure of attending the Mustang Owners Club annual All American car show Sunday 18th January at castle hill towers, once again it was a great day as well as being a hot one too. But I think you will agree with me it is always a very successful car show and well organized.
Condratulations to Brent Carr - 1st place 58 Roadster
2nd place Robert Harding 71 coupe
3rd place Karl Taylor 65 Roadster
Once again, congratulations to these winners.
Last on the agenda is Club Member Of The Year, I would like to congratulate Ray and Joy Smith as members of the year for all their participation and help through the past year .
