PRESIDENTS REPORT.

July 2005

I would like to start of by thanking all the members that have purchased our raffle tickets to the states, it was going to be drawn at our July meeting but we still have about 40 tickets to sell so I have made a decision to draw it at this years Corvettes @ Fox whether all the tickets are sold or not.

Next I would like to thank Murray Forman for helping the club out, by loaning the balance of the deposit for the Holiday Inn for next years convention a great gesture thanks mate your money will be returned to you ASAP.

It is good to see so many members coming to the club meetings now it really is encourageing & I think we are now getting more on our club runs especially all you new members if you have a location or idea for a run please let our events co-ordinator know & he can help you organise it.

There has been a few postings on our forum about convoys & the rules, to me common sense should always rule, fill your car up before you get to the meeting place or if it is servo you are meeting at & you need fuel get there early & fill up, listen to who is going to lead then stick to the SPEED LIMIT, when approching red lights take up as many lanes as possible then you can re-form into single file again there is nothing worse than a few get through the lights & the rest are stuck there thats how people get lost or left behind.

If you are in the front & you see people have been caught just slow up it is the responsibility of the leader to keep every one together. If the convoy has to many cars in it form a couple of groups to make things easier for the leaders, if you want to go slower than the speed limit & look around tell your leaders not to wait for you I have been on runs & people are doing 80 in a 100 zone this spoils everyones day.

Regards Garry.

This will be the 5th year our club has hosted this gala event at Fox Studios Sydney & it gets bigger every year with Corvette owners from all parts of Australia coming to either enter their Corvette into one of the premier car shows in the country or look at the best corvettes on display.

This year will be no different as we have already had enquirys from other states looking for accomodation needs. This year the entry fee will be $35 I know what you are thinking that sounds a lot but when you go to shows & pay between $10 & $20 & you get a plastic bag full of stickers pens & out of date car magazines & brouchers that you will never use, then what you get in ours is great value. You will have the usual car care goodies a polo shirt, cap & various other great gifts.

This year you will be able to down load an entry form from our web site which is http:www.nswcorvettes.com.au & go to club events or just click this message, we need all entries in by the end of August as to guarantee you your show bag & the right size shirt please make cheques payable to the NSW Corvettes unlimited car club inc.
