The weekend after I ventured up to Newcastle for the All American Car show with four other members from Sydney where we met up with a lot of our Northern members. It was an excellent day, a good show and a good turnout. I’m really enjoying the last few runs I’ve taken up North, it’s always a friendly and enjoyable atmosphere and I’m enjoying taking runs up to areas we haven’t been to for a while. Watching the trophy presentation was cool, as our members did very well on the day, every time I thought “wow, that’s a great result” another person got called up for another award. It was actually kind of funny at the time – and good to see. We’re having a few more runs up there through the year and I can assure you that you will have a great time if you join us.
On that note, please take note that if you would like to come along for the Urunga weekend away on the weekend of the 4th, 5th and 6th of October. While that’s a way off I’ve been informed that NOW is the time to book your accommodation as it fills up fast. I haven’t been to this one before but it sounds like a good time and will be going up to check it out. If you’re interested contact Chris and Sue on 4952 9995.
Nick Zankiewicz’s go-kart day is on the 29th March – so if you want to come and haven’t done anything about it now is your last chance. We’ll be having a BBQ afterwards and last years was great fun.
This years BBQ’s kicked off at Doonside in February with another great turnout. Murray put on an excellent spread and the company was great. It was good to meet one of Murray and Wendy’s friends from the USA, Jim Lennartz who also happens to be a walking encyclopaedia of Corvette technical info. I had the privilege to participate in a few seminars run by Jim and they are a great learning experience and a great opportunity to expand on your understanding of that beast in your garage. If you get such an opportunity I’d urge you to check them out. These nights are always good fun with good food and company. This month’s BBQ will be at the Dolls Point location and I’m looking forward to that one too.
This month also will see the local Chapter of the NCRS have their annual regional meet in Tasmania and a number of our members are going – my best wishes to everyone going for a safe and enjoyable weekend and trip. I’m looking forward to seeing the reports and pics when everyone gets back!
Lastly, I’m planning a run up to the Newport Arms on Sydney’s Northern Beaches for lunch on Sunday 16th for our monthly club run. If your interested in attending give me a call on 0409 043 473
Until next month, drive safe and remember your club is here for you to enjoy.
