President’s Report March 2010

Hi Everyone,

Not a lot to report this month as we have just returned from holidays.
I know there have been some runs over the past few weeks including the American Sunday at Warriewood.

Just a reminder again about Bella Vista Show and Shine. Get yourself and your pride and joy along and make this another successful day for your club, as the shopping centre has given us a lot of support to make this a successful day for all.

Many thanks to the 14 members who have put their hands up to help organize the corvette convention that we will be hosting in 2012. As you can well imagine, they will have a big job to do and will need all the support from all members.

Our holiday included attending the New Zealand corvette Nationals held in Hamilton. It was attended by approx. 85 corvettes including a new C6 ZR1.

All corvettes in New Zealand are allowed to remain L.H.D. Not many cars are converted to R.H.D.

I had the pleasure of driving a 1987 L.H.D. which was offered to me by a member to use for the whole weekend which included approx 800kms. Road trip. What an experience for Jenny sitting in the passenger’s seat which is on the centre line watching for oncoming traffic. We returned the car back to the owner safely and it was much appreciated.

All the vette owners from NZ made us feel very welcome, but that is what the Corvette scene is all about, no matter where you are in the world. One car which stood out was a   C5 with a 1953 corvette front and rear clip which is built in Detroit.

Until next month, and as I always say “DO IT IN A VETTE”

Bob Lynn.
President.
