PRESIDENTS REPORT. May 2003 Well what a month April has been, I went to my first corvette convention with mixed thoughts & came away with a whole different opinion of the weekend. Meeting up with the Queensland guys & Sydney members at uncle leos was the start of what would be a great 3 days of fun. lets hit the road was the call 25 vettes leaving was a fantastic sight all zooming down the freeway to Canberra then a major traffic jam when I finally got to the problem it was our own Andrew Felton & his video camera hanging off his drivers door in which every car must have thought was a police car with a camera on it's side.We also picked a passenger up which we shared around he was the reporter from classic car magazine, Sean was his name & he had so many storys about car shows. Then pulling into the underground car park seeing all those corvettes parked there was something else. Also it was great to see so many trophys going to our club members & congratulations should go to Steve Rosenfels & Daniel Lewandowski for the drag strip titles. The Canberra club I think personally blew the doors of everyone for there organizing of the convention nothing was left to chance to me everything went to clock work they should be well praised for their efforts. Then we had All GM day the day started out wet & I think got worse as we stood in the rain for the brave 10 that showed up with their cars you should have all won a trophy but none the less John Mafrice & Alan Dures took home the trophys on the day. Don't forget Bella Vista's date has changed to the 25/05/03 this is our clubs SHOW & SHINE so please make an effort to come along there is great entertainment arranged an exhaust sound off also a good prize for the best Elvis look alike also the first 60 entrants get a free shirt from the day so be quick the #'s are filling up fast. The
next big club event is our first TRIVIA QUIZ night on the 14 /6/03 at
the Greyhound social club where we hold our club meetings to raise some
money for OUR clubs coffers which are streched at the moment we need
50 teams of 4 people a team entry is $5 a head this is a fun night there
is a chance to win $520 in one go we are going to invite some other
car clubs along as well so please make the effort get your friends &
make your team up. We are going to hold a secret auction On different
items that have been donated Harry Turner has given us a book case Dave
Vail window tint Don & Becky Walters some of there dog products
that they sell if you can donate something please call me on 0403026867.
The night will start at 7pm to register your team please call Eveon
