President’s Report May 2008

To kick of this months report, by the time you all read this I'd like to ask all members to try get their entry forms for Club events (such as our Show 'n' Shine at Bella Vista on 18th May 2008) in earlier in the future. It is extremely difficult to let all of our various stakeholders know how many cars we are expected, as well as making it difficult to order trophies, shirts, show bags and the like when we don't have an accurate idea of who is coming until the eleventh hour. While I appreciate many of you may not be sure until closer to the event date, it does make our jobs more difficult not having accurate information until late in the piece.

With that, I hope as many of you as possible are planning to attend this event. As with all events, while we try our best to make sure club events are fun and offer something for everyone, oftentimes these events are what you make of them. They can be a great learning experience (both about cars and your fellow members) and social days if you let them be. If you have any queries about this years event please call Bob Lynn or myself (our numbers are in the front of this newsletter).

My thanks go out to Bob Lynn and the committee members who ran last months meeting in my absence. Unfortunately a work conference that I could not avoid coincided with our meeting date and as such I was unable to attend. Thanks to Bob for running the meeting and holding the fort.

As well as Bella Vista this month, our Northern members are having a weekend Cruise to Mudgee between 23-25th May. If you are interested in this event please call Peter B on 0428 648 022.

My congratulations also go out to South Australian Corvette Club for a job well done on the 2008 Corvette Convention. While I was unable to attend, all reports I have heard have been positive in every regard. Well done. Congratulations are also in order for our members who attended for the camaraderie they displayed and success they enjoyed in the vent. Thank you all for doing your club proud and representing the club well.

Next years Convention will be in our own backyard, being hosted by Corvettes of Canberra. I'm looking forward to this one as the Canberra guys and girls always put on a good weekend.

Until next month, enjoy your Vette and the friendships this club offers.

Andrew
