PRESIDENTS REPORT. President's Report - November 2006 As I'm sure you are all aware, we have a busy few weeks ahead of us before Christmas is upon us. Thanks to the efforts of the committee and those of you who have come forward with ideas, we have an abundance of plans and events to choose from. Our show at Darling Harbour has been keeping all of us on the Committee busy. While I write this in mid October, and you won't be reading this until after the show has been and gone, I am expecting you will all have had an enjoyable day at Darling Harbour. Being the first time our new committee has organised such an event, we have learnt a lot and already have many things in mind for future shows. As usual, if you have any ideas or constructive feedback I would very much like to hear from you. All of us on the committee are here to act on your behalf and are interested to know what our members think. As some of you who attended our October meeting would be aware, our newest sponsor, Sharp has stated they would like to see a greater response from our members calling the 1300 number in the magazine and have advised us that if this does not change they will cease their arrangement with us after the printing of our December newsletter. If you are interested in purchasing a Sharp product, please make your enquiries via the 1300 number in your magazine so that Sharp is aware that your enquiry is the result of their advertising with us. You do not need to purchase a product, merely an enquiry will help as Sharp is hoping to achieve better brand recognition via this arrangement. Should this arrangement cease, we will investigate whether there are any other economically viable printing options of a higher standard than previously used available. Also, the Club Christmas Party at Lane Cove National Park is on late this month - that being the case, please purchase your ticket(s) now so that we can ensure adequate arrangements are made. Family tickets are available for eligible members. As we are now having the one Christmas Party (due to lack of timely response to the adults Christmas party) it would certainly be nice to see as many of you at Lane Cove National Park as possible on the 26th November. Many of us will be taking our family cars as this is intended to be a family day (you can still safely bring your Vette should you wish). As I have said in my last few reports, if anyone has any matters that they would like to discuss, please feel free to contact me or one of the committee members. We look forward to your constructive input and feedback. Until
next month, drive safe and enjoy your club and what it has to
offer. Andrew |
