President’s Report November 2008

Hi Everyone,
I would like to congratulate and welcome the incoming committee for the next 12 months. I look forward to working with all of you. We all have a big year ahead of us and I shall endeavour to keep all members informed on what is happening in your club.

Since the AGM we have had a busy time finalising all the arrangements for our Darling Harbour show and shine, which was a very successful day. Thanks should go to all of the committee members for their hard work in making it a smooth and trouble free day.

Special thanks to the 6 judges who gave their time and did a splendid job. Also to jenny and Joy for looking after the entrants and the tallying of the judges sheets. Their job was made difficult because of the club's postal address which was changed 2 weeks leading up to this event which meant that we didn't receive a lot of the entries. I also apologise to the members and thank you for your patience.

Our next major event which will be "Done and dusted" by the time you read this report. It is our Annual Corvette Lead foot Challenge. We made a decision due to limited response from corvette owners to invite other car clubs and have a super sprint day at Wakefield. At this stage there are over 40 cars attending. I shall report on the day in next month's newsletter.

Thanks to Nick our new events co-ordinator and committee members we will be holding our annual Xmas party which will be at Prospect Reservoir. All details in the club newsletter and on the forum.

Our club show and shine at Bella Vista has been booked for march 15th 2009.Entry forms are in this months newsletter, please get them in A.S.A.P. so we are able to organise Trophies and shirts. The centre management are very keen to have our car club back again. Please respond and make this a big and successful day.

Another event to keep in your diary for next year is The National Corvette Convention in Canberra on 10th to 14th April 2009.This is a great weekend that you should not miss out on. Forms can be downloaded from the clubs forum or see me at the next meeting.

Last but not least, please note that there have been 3 changes to our clubs constitution.
Please read minutes from last months meeting AGM .This will keep you up to date with the changes. Our Secretary Jenny has received confirmation from the Dept. of Fair Trading.

Regards Bob Lynn. [As I always say DO IT IN A VETTE
