PRESIDENTS REPORT. September 2006 I would like to start this month's report by thanking those outgoing committee members for their efforts over their term of service. Your efforts and contribution to the club are appreciated. We on the committee are here to give you, the club members the experience you would like the club to give you. In my opinion it is our job to run the club responsibly, foster a spirit of camaraderie and provide all of our members with a variety of activities to participate in, depending on what type of activities may interest them. To this end, we will be working to provide a range of activities including runs, social events, car shows, & driving events so that our members can participate in those activities that they find of interest. If you have any questions, have an idea or feel you can contribute to the club in some way please contact either myself or one of the committee members, we are here to work on your behalf. The whole committee has been hard at work on a number of things, and I am confident you will all be happy with the results of their work. I am very thankful to have been given the opportunity to represent our club and am very encouraged by the level of enthusiasm that seems apparent right now in the club as well as amongst my fellow committee members. There have been some very enjoyable runs and events in the past month, some of which you will read about elsewhere in this newsletter. The committee is currently at work on organising a car show to carry on our recent tradition of shows, at the time of my writing this, investigations and discussions are underway but I am not able to comment with specifics. I do expect that we will be able to report to you our progress in time for the September meeting. For those who will be attending the "Corvette Challenge" at Winton Raceway during the last weekend of October, please send in your entry forms to the Melbourne Club as soon as you are able so that they know how many people they will have attending, this is important as they have costs to cover and have to ensure they get sufficient numbers and book accordingly. On a similar note, the same applies to next years Corvette Convention in QLD. If you know that you are going, do our friends in QLD a favour and send them your form with a deposit of some sort so that they know you are coming. Enjoy yourselves and your cars. Best regards |
